About the role
As the NDT Lead, you will support several aspects of Nucor Memphis NDT lines, including safety-driven efforts, development of processes to meet specific customer specifications, review of product and test results, equipment calibrations, process improvement, and production/sales support. This role requires adaptability to a fast-paced environment and a commitment to meeting the changing demands of our customers and the Nucor team. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; candidates must be able to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Responsibilities
- Support safety-driven efforts on NDT lines
- Develop processes to meet specific customer specifications
- Review product and test results
- Perform equipment calibrations
- Drive process improvement initiatives
- Provide production and sales support
- Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards
Requirements
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, and holidays
- Level 2 MT/UT Certified
- 3 years of experience with Non-destructive testing in steel applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Steel production or primary metals manufacturing experience
- Experience with Non-Destructive Testing of SBQ steel
- Knowledge of industry Standards for Non-Destructive Testing
- Two to four year technical degree or equivalent experience
