About the role
This role will manage sourcing and supplier priorities that improve value, reliability, and operational performance. You will partner with finance, operations, legal, and business stakeholders to negotiate effectively, manage vendors, and support better purchasing decisions. The position offers the opportunity to improve cost discipline, supplier performance, and the processes that support scalable execution within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop program-specific sourcing plans aligned with strategic sourcing direction for each assigned NPI or initiative
- Guide project teams to the sourcing strategy and provide necessary information throughout the development phase
- Serve as procurement representative in engineering and program management activities, attending multiple meetings weekly
- Manage and escalate financial risks and opportunities throughout the development lifecycle
- Direct PO execution by Sourcing Operations to ensure alignment with the sourcing strategy during development
- Partner with category buyers and commodity leaders to align program requirements with category strategies
- Drive engineering toward an Approved Vendor List to minimize unapproved sourcing before design lock
- Ensure lifecycle considerations like serviceability and total-cost are represented in sourcing decisions during development
- Facilitate communication across teams on cost, schedule, and quality aspects
- Identify material and supply risks, escalating to leadership with proposed resolutions
- Report on procurement status to stakeholders, highlighting risks and metrics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or program/project management, ideally within Automation, Robotics, or Material Handling
- Experience partnering with cross-functional engineering and program management teams during new product development
- Strong understanding of sourcing strategy, category management, and purchase order execution processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent programs in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and relationship-management skills across teams
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems; SAP preferred
Pay
$135,000 – $185,900 annually
