Molex is seeking a NPI Process Engineer – Progressive Stamping to support New Product & Innovation (NPI) activities within our Lincoln, Nebraska facility. In this role, you will serve as a technical expert in progressive stamping processes, partnering with tooling designers, product development teams, and manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, qualification, and validation of new stamping tools and manufacturing processes for new product introductions
- Provide technical expertise during tooling and process design reviews, offering input on manufacturability, process capability, tooling functionality, and stamping best practices
- Collaborate with tooling designers, process engineers, and cross-functional teams to optimize tooling concepts and stamping processes before production launch
- Assemble, troubleshoot, validate, and refine new tooling and processes to ensure readiness for production release
- Support development and maintenance of process documentation, including process flows, PFMEAs, control plans, and related quality documentation
- Investigate complex process and tooling challenges using structured problem-solving techniques and implement sustainable corrective actions
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring milestones, timelines, and deliverables are achieved
- Partner with manufacturing teams to transition qualified tooling and processes into production while providing technical guidance and training as needed
- Participate in design reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, and process optimization efforts to improve quality, efficiency, and cost competitiveness
- Utilize engineering drawings, tooling prints, and CAD models to evaluate tooling performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support troubleshooting efforts
- Maintain a safe work environment and support environmental, quality, and operational excellence initiatives
- Apply Principle Based Management® and collaborate effectively across engineering, tooling, quality, and manufacturing teams
Requirements
- Technical degree OR hands-on experience in progressive stamping, tooling, machining, or a related manufacturing process
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, tooling prints, and technical documentation
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience working cross-functionally to solve technical problems and support project execution
Qualifications
- Experience supporting New Product & Innovation (NPI) or new process development activities
- Tool and die, machining, or tooling design experience
- Experience with process qualification, validation, and troubleshooting of stamping tools
- Experience developing PFMEAs, process flows, control plans, or other quality documentation
- Experience with CAD software such as Siemens NX, Creo, Pro/Engineer, or similar platforms
- Project management experience
- Quality experience including 8D problem solving methodologies
- Experience supporting high-speed precision stamping operations
