NPD Procurement Manager

About the Role
This role will support all Procurement activities required for New Product Development (NPD) excellence focused on our electronic and mechanical product portfolio. You will act as the Procurement representative on all assigned NPD projects in the Americas region, facilitating all Procurement activities related to the project. The main objective is to achieve the defined quality, cost, and delivery targets. This role will partner with Commodity Managers, SBUs, and the project team to develop and implement effective Procurement strategies in the early stages of the NPD process. The manager will engage suppliers early in the development process with functional stakeholders (Engineering, Product Management, Quality), and align with global manufacturing strategy to ensure the lowest manufacturing cost is achieved at production start-up.

Responsibilities
- Utilize Procurement processes, tools, and commodity playbooks to develop an NPD Procurement strategy and plan in accordance with the global manufacturing strategy to ensure the lowest manufacturing cost is achieved at production start-up.
- Drive early supplier involvement and aid in DFSS and DFMEA efforts with critical suppliers.
- Drive initiatives in alignment with Procurement strategy to achieve program cost targets including: diligent project cost tracking, supplier negotiations, Pre-production part and component delivery schedules.
- Manage the process to purchase prototype components from suppliers.
- Develop and track the following project deliverables: development schedule, product cost including material, tooling costs, working capital (lead-time reduction and inventory management) and asset management, Quality and Warranty, Component reuse to further improve financial results.
- Manage and assure acceptable quality levels and continuity of supply for all new components through leadership of supplier management and supplier quality programs.
- Build strong, value-added relationships with suppliers, internal customers, and cross-functional departments.
- Operate in a professional manner with the highest personal integrity and in accordance with Allegion’s Code of Ethical Conduct and compliance policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility in the areas of Engineering, Supply Chain & Procurement, NPD, Sourcing, or related field, including supervisory experience.
- Electronic component procurement and manufacturing experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success in supplier development across regions and responsibility for high-level negotiations.
- Experience in PCBA contract manufacturing and electronic component sourcing preferred.
- Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, project management, and process development skills.
- Must be a strategic thinker and have demonstrated experience driving strategies.
- Demonstrated experience running multiple, large complex cross-functional projects.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence at all levels of the organization.
- International sourcing experience a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 15% including international travel.
