About the role
This is a Monday-Friday day shift schedule with 6 clinical sessions. The position is on-site at MGH Waltham. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of primary care experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP). The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions, as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing appropriate plans of care, and conducting ongoing evaluations. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
- Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
- Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
- Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Nursing (required).
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Massachusetts.
- 2 years of licensed nurse practitioner experience; 1-2 years required.

- Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
- Ability to maintain quality control standards.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
Additional Details
This is an onsite position located at 52 Second Avenue, Waltham. Scheduled weekly hours are 40, with a day shift schedule (Monday-Friday).
Pay
Annual pay range: $126,838.40 - $173,867.20 (Grade 7). At Mass General Brigham, base pay is determined by skills, relevant experience, education, certifications, and other essential factors.
