The GI Division at Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking an experienced nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our fast-paced, ambulatory, academic gastroenterology practice in Boston. Under the supervision of the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Manager and faculty, the APP will deliver care and continuity for patients with general GI conditions, working closely with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and patient care coordinators in a team-based approach.
About the role
- 8 clinical sessions per week with one hour of administrative time per session
- Responsible for new, urgent, and follow-up patient visits
- Monday-Friday day shift schedule
- Hybrid work arrangement
- Work location: 15 Parkman Street
- Scheduled weekly hours: 40
Responsibilities
- Play a critical role in delivering direct patient care
- Participate in a team-based care approach for patients with various GI diseases and disorders
- Take medical histories, assess medical conditions, and interpret findings
- Maintain quality control standards
- Respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures
- Communicate clearly and establish effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies (required; no experience in lieu of degree)
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN-NP) or Physician Assistant licensure in Massachusetts
- 0-1 year of experience as an NP/PA (preferred)
- 2 years of related APP experience (ideal)
Pay
Annual pay range: $126,838.40 - $173,867.20 (Grade 7). Base pay is determined by skills, relevant experience, education, certifications, and other factors.
