NP Adult Inpatient Psychiatry Mental Health
About the Role
Serves as a full-time Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider to provide care to patients requiring Inpatient Psychiatric Services. Provides psychiatric care to patients on the Inpatient Psychiatric Units and works as a Nurse Practitioner in the Emergency Department as well as inpatient units. Responsibilities include providing expert-level clinical care and coordination of care via a full range of services to improve quality of patient care delivered.
Responsibilities
- Observe and evaluate patients
- Order appropriate laboratory testing and diagnostic studies
- Arrange for referrals, testing, consultation, and therapeutic services
- Maintain outstanding relationships with families, referring physicians, and all members of the healthcare team
- Develop effective partnerships with providers, staff, and stakeholders regardless of cultural, ethnic, or racial backgrounds
Requirements
- NYS licensed/registered Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NYS NP specialty area of certification must be consistent with practice)
- Master’s Degree
- NPI number, DEA certification, and medical malpractice insurance
- Medicare enrolled with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN)
- National Certification through AANP or ANCC prior to hire
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
Schedule
Flexible hours including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and on-call shifts.

Pay
L5-L6: $99,000 - $165,000 (full-time, 1.0 FTE). Salary is based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, market, and business considerations. The range would be prorated for less than 1.0 FTE.
