Job Overview

Lead new business placements and assigned renewals from strategy through binding
Serve as a client/prospect facing insurance professional for large, complex construction accounts
Design and negotiate insurance programs, including coverage analysis and risk-related consulting
Manage renewals with a high degree of autonomy
Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, wholesalers, Producers and clients
Attend pre-renewal meetings to develop renewal strategy and address exposure changes
Participate in new business planning and update meetings with Producers and Sales Leaders
Negotiate renewal terms with carriers and review quotes for accuracy and intent
Prepare and submit applications, proposals and supporting documentation to markets
Bond coverage within company guidelines and ensure accurate documentation in internal systems
Train, mentor and delegate work to Placement Support team members
Identify cross-sell and account-rounding opportunities to support retention and growth
Serve as a subject matter resource to colleagues on coverage, markets and processes
Participate in new business development activities, including occasional travel
Comply with internal procedures while meeting service, quality and performance expectations

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of insurance marketing, placement or brokering experience (construction-focused)
  • Strong understanding of the New York construction insurance marketplace
  • Proven ability to manage large, complex accounts with limited oversight
  • Collaborative mindset with a strong sense of accountability and ownership
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Positive, professional demeanor with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a commercial insurance agency (marketing and/or client service)
  • Active Property & Casualty License
  • Commitment to maintaining required continuing education
  • Advanced designations preferred (CRIS, CPCU, AAI, CIC)
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial lines underwriting, coverages, and risk analysis
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and agency management systems (Sagitta, ImageRight preferred)
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Highly motivated, resourceful, and goal-driven with a strong service mindset

Compensation

The national average salary for this role is $125 000.00 - 150 000.00 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
