The North East Innovation Lab is part of Newcastle Hospitals and works with organisations of all sizes, from university spin outs to large international companies, providing access to clinical samples and supporting the development of new diagnostic tests.

We offer a wide range of services, covering everything needed to scientifically evaluate and validate new diagnostics, including access to a biobank of clinical samples.

Case studies
Since launching in January 2021, we have engaged with over 100 test developers from across the globe from the USA to Australia, the UK to China and worked with national and international companies to evaluate their diagnostics and develop scientific testing protocols.
