About the role

The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach will assist the basketball program in the day-to-day operations of the men’s basketball program, including recruiting, scouting, mentoring, practice and game planning, player skill development, academic progress, strength and conditioning program, social media, camps, and other duties assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting prospective student-athletes
• Scouting and game planning
• Mentoring and player skill development
• Monitoring academic progress of student-athletes
• Overseeing strength and conditioning program
• Managing social media for the program
• Organizing and assisting with camps
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director

Requirements

• Basketball coaching experience
• Knowledge of and commitment to NJCAA compliance policies and procedures
• Proven ability to develop, establish, and sustain relationships with student-athletes, coaches, administration, and various constituents
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills
• Proven ability to recruit prospective student-athletes
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and travel as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (desired)
• 2-4 years of collegiate coaching experience (desired)
