Responsibilities

• Operation of tongs and use of drilling slips to assemble and disassemble drilling pipe and collars
• Operation of hoists to raise/lower equipment and personnel
• Use of hand tools such as sledge hammers and large pipe wrenches to maintain and repair equipment
• Participation in various activities including chipping and painting, physical movement of equipment, mixing of chemicals, greasing, oiling, and washing of equipment, walls, and floors
• Performance of tasks under the close supervision of the Driller
