About the role

As the North Country Pathways & Funding Specialist, you'll engage with students of all ages and backgrounds to help assess their education and career goals and develop personalized plans in support of achieving those goals. You'll also provide guidance and support in navigating all aspects of funding their education, including financial aid, scholarships, and student loans.

Your days will involve conducting virtual or in-person consultations, providing resources and individualized guidance, delivering virtual or in-person presentations to a variety of stakeholders, and providing feedback related to the effectiveness of the organization's career planning and success programming. You'll use your expertise, problem-solving skills, and empathetic nature to provide tailored advice and support, helping each person map out a path to success.

This is a full-time hybrid position responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships and providing services throughout Grafton County and Coos County, New Hampshire. Candidates should have significant knowledge of these regions, including the local community landscape and higher education environment, and be able to travel regularly within the assigned territory. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience working in, supporting, or collaborating with organizations and institutions in Northern New Hampshire.

Our headquarters is located in Concord, NH, and this position is expected to work from the Concord office a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remainder of the schedule based on business needs and regional engagement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct virtual or in-person consultations with students to assess education and career goals
  • Develop personalized plans to support students in achieving their goals
  • Provide guidance on funding education, including financial aid, scholarships, and student loans
  • Deliver virtual or in-person presentations to a variety of stakeholders
  • Provide feedback and input on the effectiveness of career planning and success programming
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Travel regularly within Grafton County and Coos County, New Hampshire (up to 80% travel)
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in school or career counseling, college admissions, financial aid, or workforce development
  • Demonstrated understanding of education and career access in Northern New Hampshire
  • Strong presentation and public-speaking skills
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of participants and groups of all sizes
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a frequently changing environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to travel as required by the position (up to 80%)
  • Significant knowledge of Grafton County and Coos County, New Hampshire
