Responsibilities
- Supports USDA, OLAW, AAALAC, and CCAC compliance
- Harmonizes IACUC function across North America
- Coordinates and archives regulatory reporting
- Maintains and archives IACUC meeting minutes and protocols
- Reviews and proposes changes to IACUC policies
- Supports IACUC administrators in maintaining records for audits
- Reviews and coordinates training for IACUC members
- Reviews and harmonizes AAALAC, USDA, and OLAW reports
- Reviews and harmonizes PHS Assurances
- Attends and coordinates closure meetings for USDA and AAALAC inspections
- Supports study directors, coordinators, and grant-funded projects
- Led the Government Grants Team or other regulatory teams
- Revise Vertebrate Animal Section (VAS) documents
- Complete congruency checks between SOW, VAS, and approved protocol
- Assist in completing ACURO forms and DOD submissions
- Support the development, maintenance, and communication of departmental systems
- Provide regulatory guidance to scientific and operational staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent
- 5-10 years of relevant experience
- CPIA certification
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer skills commensurate with essential functions
Qualifications
- Knowledge of USDA regulations, AWA, PHS policy, AAALAC regulations, and “the Guide”
- Experience in a laboratory animal environment preferred
Benefits
