North America Regional Planner Buyer
About the role
Corning's Optical Communications segment is a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry, serving both carrier network and enterprise network customers worldwide. We are seeking a Regional Planner Buyer to lead planning, procurement, and inventory optimization supporting the delivery of fiber optic cable across our North America cable region. Core areas of responsibility include fiber purchasing, inventory management and optimization, order scheduling, and supply chain data analysis.
Primary Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Support North America regional production planning and master scheduling, including order management, resource planning, delivery promising, and production forecasting
- Execute tactical procurement for assigned materials (primarily fiber) — including purchase order (PO) submission, on-time delivery monitoring, expediting, and billing discrepancy resolution
- Optimize finished goods, work-in-process (WIP), and fiber inventory across North America regional plants
- Coordinate planning and execution across NA regional fiber and cable manufacturing facilities
- Support new system implementation projects and initiatives within Planning and Procurement
- Ensure compliance with the Global Buying Policy
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Industrial Engineering; or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in supply chain, production planning, or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite
Desired Qualifications
- Strong SAP or ERP system knowledge and hands-on experience
- Fiber or cable product knowledge
- Inventory management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Direct manufacturing experience
- APICS certification
- Prior experience in optical fiber or cable manufacturing or planning
Pay
The range for this position is $71,930.00 - $98,904.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
