About the Role

This part-time, 12-week unpaid remote internship offers insight into the key skills required to lead and develop a nonprofit organization. The role is 12 hours per week, with the flexibility to work ahead and complete the program in fewer weeks if availability is limited. College credit is available. New programs begin every month—you choose your start date.

Responsibilities

  • Advocacy Leadership Development – Meet with members of Government in your District/Constituency; represent The Borgen Project at various business, political and community events; mobilize individuals to contact their members of Government in support of key poverty-reduction legislation.
  • Fundraising Development – Learn how to fundraise; create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets.
  • Recruitment – Update job postings; inform groups and classes of openings; gain introduction to recruitment platforms and listen in to interviews.
  • Marketing and Promotion – Pitch story ideas to print, broadcast, and digital media; utilize social media and develop strategies for web-based messaging.

Qualifications

No prior experience is necessary. We are looking for people who are passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of GPA or background.
