Description
The Borgen Project is an international organization dedicated to improving living conditions for people affected by war, famine, and poverty through political advocacy. With a history spanning 20 years, the organization has successfully supported the passage of several bills benefiting nearly 500 million people in developing countries.
Responsibilities
- Meet with members of Government in your District/Constituency
- Represent The Borgen Project at various business, political, and community events
- Mobilize individuals to contact their members of Government in support of key poverty-reduction legislation
- Learn how to fundraise
- Create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets
- Update job postings
- Inform groups and classes of openings
- Introduction to recruitment platforms
- Listen in to interviews
- Pitch story ideas to print, broadcast, and digital media
- Utilize social media and develop strategies for web-based messaging
Requirements
No prior experience is necessary. We are looking for individuals passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of their GPAs or backgrounds.
Qualifications
This is an unpaid internship, although college credit is available. Start dates are flexible and new programs begin every month, allowing you to choose the month you wish to start.
