Description
The Borgen Project is an international organization dedicated to improving living conditions for people affected by war, famine, and poverty through political advocacy. With over two decades of experience, the organization has supported the passage of several pieces of legislation benefiting nearly 500 million people in developing countries.
Responsibilities
- Meet with members of government in your district/constituency
- Represent The Borgen Project at various business, political, and community events
- Mobilize individuals to contact their members of government in support of key poverty-reduction legislation
- Learn how to fundraise
- Create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets
- Update job postings
- Inform groups and classes of openings
- Introduce recruitment platforms
- Listen in to interviews
- Pitch story ideas to print, broadcast, and digital media
- Utilize social media and develop strategies for web-based messaging
Requirements
No prior experience is necessary. We are looking for individuals passionate about fighting poverty and advocating for change, regardless of their academic background.
Qualifications
This is an unpaid internship, although college credit is available. Programs begin every month, and you choose the month you wish to start.
