Description
The Borgen Project is an international organization dedicated to improving living conditions for people affected by war, famine, and poverty through political advocacy. With a history spanning 20 years, the organization has successfully supported the passage of legislation benefiting over 500 million people in developing countries.
Responsibilities
- Meet with members of Government in your District/Constituency
- Represent The Borgen Project at various business, political, and community events
- Mobilize individuals to contact their members of Government in support of key poverty-reduction legislation
- Learn how to fundraise
- Create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets
- Update job postings
- Inform groups and classes of openings
- Introduce recruitment platforms
- Listen in to interviews
- Pitch story ideas to print, broadcast, and digital media
- Utilize social media and develop strategies for web-based messaging
Requirements
- No prior experience necessary
- Passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs
