About the role
Long Branch Environmental Education Center is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Nonprofit Grant Writer to secure foundation and state funding for a legacy organization with deep community roots. This role is highly autonomous, working on a flexible schedule to craft clear, competitive funding proposals. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of nonprofit storytelling, structural adherence to grant guidelines, and a passion for community-centered ecology and outdoor education. This role reports to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities
- Write and submit clear, competitive grant proposals to foundations and state agencies.
- Adhere strictly to grant guidelines and deadlines.
- Develop compelling narratives that align with Long Branch’s mission and funding priorities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a nonprofit grant writer with a track record of securing funding.
- Strong storytelling skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for community-centered ecology and outdoor education.
Pay
$30/hour, 5 hours/week.
Schedule
Hours are highly flexible, with shifting week-to-week intensity around deadlines. Remote friendly, but proximity to Western North Carolina (greater Asheville / Leicester, NC area) is preferred.
