Nonprofit Director of Finance
Founded in 1974 as Anderson Youth Association, New Foundations Home for Children provides a safe, supportive, and nurturing continuum of services for children and families. We offer residential, foster, in-home, and transportation services based in Anderson, South Carolina and serving counties throughout the state. Since 1995, New Foundations has been nationally accredited through the Council on Accreditation for Children and Families (COA).
About the role
We are committed to securing the future of children and families by doing whatever it takes to support at-risk youth. Our services include both intervention and prevention programs, ranging from residential care to in-home and outpatient services. The ideal candidate will contribute to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing the finance department and supervising all financial tasks. They will oversee the complex financial operations of the business and provide frequent financial reports while ensuring strict adherence to financial regulations and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial statements and reports
- Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies
- Oversee all payroll functions
- Effectively maintain all financial records

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Prior supervisory experience
Additional Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills; ability to work autonomously; group facilitation and leadership skills
- Extensive knowledge of accounting, financial statements, charts of accounts and budgets, spreadsheets, etc.
- Excellent computer skills and experience with financial software and MS Office
Pay
Estimated starting salary range: $65,000–72,000
