About the role
The Nondestructive Test Engineer II position is located at Raytheon's Tewksbury, MA facility. This role requires a thorough background in Non-Destructive Testing, including Radiographic Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, and Penetrant Testing. The ideal candidate will have experience in NAS 410 Level 2 Certification and a broad background in NDT of various materials and processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform various non-destructive testing tasks to support production operations, developmental design, and failure analysis.
- Collaborate with engineers to develop unique test plans, proper sequencing, and validate inspection techniques and setups.
- Manage a wide variety of tasks within schedule and budget requirements.
- Communicate analysis and interpretation of results with engineering customers and document findings in engineering reports.
- Solve a wide range of technical problems as part of a multi-disciplined team.
- Travel up to 50% domestically and internationally to support requestors.
- Work 2nd shift as required.
Requirements
- A University Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
- Experience in NAS 410 Level 2 Certification and multiple NDT methods.
- Experience using various NDT methods and techniques.
- Ability to interpret and develop NDT procedures and technique sheets.
- Strong background in Non-Destructive Inspection of Aerospace products, including Composites, Castings, Welds, Braze Joints, Microcircuits, Computer Card Assemblies, etc.
- NAS 410 Level 2 Certification in Ultrasonic, Radiographic, Magnetic Particle, and Penetrant Testing.
- Knowledge of ESD protection.
- Self-motivated and able to communicate effectively under stress.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
- Experience interpreting and developing NDT Procedures and Technique sheets.
- Ability to work in a stressful, on-demand environment.
- Excellent documentation and technical writing skills.
- Strong background in Non-Destructive Inspection of Aerospace products.
- Working knowledge of Military, Aerospace, Microcircuits, Commercial Materials and Process Specifications.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $68,900 - $131,100 annually.
