Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Performs or works with a project team to research, design, define, develop, test, document and implement new computer applications or changes to existing applications according to County standards.

Coordinates with various County departments to implement system changes to meet their needs in compliance with County and IT department policy and procedures.

Reports progress and problems on currently assigned projects to the Programmer/Analyst Supervisor periodically and as new problems occur.

Provides training and/or advice to other programming staff and IT management concerning technical topics or system definitions as appropriate.

Provides problem resolution by coordinating with County departments to analyze data display programs, prints formats to determine the source of and documents problems and recommends solutions.

Makes appropriate changes to the application programs in accordance with County and department policy.

Writes programs for specific applications, designs special reports and forms as requested by various County departments in compliance with County and IT department policy and procedures.

Utilizes programming tools available at Tarrant County effectively in support of current and developing applications.

Produces program code, test data, and performs quality test in support of assigned duties on application support or development projects.

Represents project teams at section and department committee and status meetings.

Works with other department personnel to provide around the clock support for those applications that require 24-hour support.

Works with customers to evaluate, determine and implement workable solutions to special conditions and problems within the applications supported.

Maintains a working knowledge of all applications platforms and computer languages currently in use or planned for deployment within the current fiscal year at Tarrant County.

Attends training classes as assigned by management to maintain, enhance, or acquire job skills.

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, walk, climb, stoop, lift, push and pull.

Required Question

• 01 Do you have a Bachelor’s degree or higher + one (1) full-time year of experience in analysis of programs and systems or any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience?
• 02 If you do not have a degree, do you have five (5) full-time years of experience in analysis of programs and systems or any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience?
• 03 Do you have familiarity with or experience in using Spring and Hibernate? If so, please tell us where you gained this experience and for how long.
• 04 Do you have experience in using SQL queries, stored procs, database design? If so, please describe.
• 05 Do you have knowledge and/or experience with TomCat, Liferay, Alfresco, and Agile/Scrum methodologies? If so, please tell us when and in what capacity this occurred.
