Non-Metallic Engineering Specialist (Relocation to Saudi Arabia is required)
About the role
An experienced Nonmetallic Engineering Specialist is required to have a strong technical background in polymer and composite applications within the Oil and Gas (O&G) and Building and Construction (B&C) sectors. The candidate should possess excellent communication skills and be capable of working both independently and collaboratively with cross-departmental teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide consultation and review capital projects, introducing qualified nonmetallic products into engineering design packages.
- Support research and pilot projects aimed at enhancing unit performance.
- Develop new specifications and update existing standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Perform technical assessments of new vendor facilities, their qualification and approval, and conduct periodic assessments to maintain a regulated vendor list.
- Develop, introduce, and/or implement new nonmetallic technologies (e.g., oil and gas, building and construction) in Saudi Aramco facilities.
- Lead or participate in specialized tasks such as incident investigation teams, special audit teams, value engineering teams, organizational improvement teams, etc.
- Provide support in the design and construction of nonmetallic products systems (e.g., pipe, composite repair, structural components, lining).
- Act as a professional mentor to developing specialists and engineers.
- Demonstrate excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably Advanced Degree) in Chemical, Materials, Polymers, or Mechanical Engineering with 20 years of professional experience as an engineer in the field of nonmetallic materials, specifically in the O&G industry.
- Extensive knowledge in nonmetallic products (e.g., thermoplastic, thermosets) qualification and testing, consultation, operation, technical support, and technology management.
- Affiliation with professional societies such as ASME, API, ISO, NACE, with in-depth knowledge in international engineering standards and specifications.
Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Materials, Polymers, or Mechanical Engineering with 20 years of professional experience as an engineer in the field of nonmetallic materials, specifically in the O&G industry. An Advanced Degree is preferred.
