About the role
EPI Power is seeking Non-Licensed Electricians to be located on a project site in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This position is a non-union role.
Responsibilities
- Install conduit, raceways, cable tray, and supports.
- Pull, route, and secure wire and cable.
- Install, terminate, and test electrical equipment under the direction of project leadership, including panels, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, and bus duct, based on experience and classification.
- Absorb and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and project specifications to complete assigned work.
- Measure, cut, bend, and install conduit using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company and site safety requirements.
- Complete assigned work efficiently while meeting quality standards and project schedules.
- Accurately complete required documentation, including quality control and inspection forms when applicable.
- Communicate effectively with Foremen, General Foremen, and team members to support project goals.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
- Experience: Previous commercial or industrial electrical experience is required.
- Experience installing conduit (EMT, Rigid, PVC, and/or MC cable).
- Experience pulling wire and cable.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and schematics.
- Experience installing cable tray, supports, and electrical equipment.
- Familiarity with electrical tools, materials, and safe work practices.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Data center or large commercial construction experience is preferred but not required.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must wear all company or project required personal protective equipment (PPE), regularly work in outside weather conditions, be aware of close moving mechanical parts, and perform in high, precarious places.
