Non-Credit Instructor- EMS Program (Part-time, Variable Hour)

Summary Of Responsibilities

The successful individual shall perform some or all the following duties:

• Teach assigned sections in EMS courses.
• Prepares instructional materials as necessary.
• Instructs, manages, and supervises individuals and groups in classrooms and EMS learning labs using appropriate teaching methods.
• Evaluate instruction and learning utilizing appropriate testing methods.
• Maintains a student-oriented approach to education.
• Maintains and submits accurate and current reports and records involving student accountability, attendance, performance, and follow-up.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

• Utah licensure in one of the following EMS provider levels: EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic with a current Utah BEMS EMS Instructor endorsement.
• AHA BLS Instructor Certification, or Licensure with a specific healthcare specialty (Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, P.A., N.P., MD/DO, etc.).
• Preferred Qualifications: AHA ACLS/PALS Instructor (required for AEMT and Paramedic Programs).
• Three years of prehospital experience with a 911 system.
• Two years of teaching experience.
• NAEMT Instructor certification (for Paramedic program).
