Part-Time Instructor of Emergency Medical Services
Arkansas State University-Beebe, a two-year residential community college, is compiling a pool of qualified candidates for future part-time teaching opportunities in Emergency Medical Services.
About the Role
The Part-Time Instructor of Emergency Medical Services will administer, organize, and supervise classroom, laboratory, and practicum education. Responsibilities include participation in planning, implementing, and reviewing the Emergency Medical Services strategic plan, teaching Emergency Medical Technician courses and other short EMS courses (e.g., CPR and First Responder), and contributing to college committee work. The role also involves preparation, submission, and maintenance of accreditation documentation. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Software Suite is required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver assigned lesson plans to students.
- Administer and grade tests and assignments.
- Advise students on academic progress and challenges.
- Order necessary supplies for instruction.
- Provide clinical supervision of student client care.
- Make clinical assignments based on students’ knowledge and abilities.
- Calculate and report student grades according to college policy.
- Collaborate with faculty on curriculum updates.
- Attend faculty and division meetings.
- Travel to other campuses, off-site locations, and preceptor sites for teaching, meetings, student audits, and site visits.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Nationally Registered Paramedic with valid Arkansas Licensure.
- Two years of related experience and/or training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree.
Pay
$650 per credit hour.
