Non-Certified Chaplain
About the role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated After‑Hours Chaplain to join our Spiritual Care team. This non‑FTE position provides vital spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff of Swedish Health Services during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. As an essential resource outside of normal business hours, you will offer comfort during moments of crisis, serve as a calming presence, and help individuals navigate challenging experiences with dignity and care. In this role, you will also act as a liaison between patients, families, and community clergy to ensure appropriate spiritual resources are available. Work is performed on an intermittent, as‑needed basis, offering flexibility while providing meaningful, mission‑driven service during critical times.
Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Offer comfort and a calming presence during moments of crisis
- Assist individuals in navigating challenging experiences with dignity and care
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, and community clergy to ensure appropriate spiritual resources are available
- Perform work on an intermittent, as‑needed basis outside of normal business hours
Required Qualifications
- Completion of one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
- 1 year in ministry
- Experience in a medical setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Divinity
- Previous experience using an electronic medical record

Pay
The base pay range for this position is $32.46 – $49.26 per hour. Additional compensation may be available, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
