Non-Cert Sterile Processing Technician I Full Time Days

Responsibilities

• Receives soiled and contaminated instruments or equipment from surgery, anesthesia, and nursing units.
• Cleans and disinfects instruments and equipment appropriately.
• Inspects all instruments and equipment for damages, malfunction, or unacceptable condition.
• Prepares instruments and equipment for sterilization by verifying correct items and quantities.
• Affirms proper sterilization procedures are performed and the effectiveness of the sterilizing process.
• Maintains required records on sterilization and tracks equipment and instruments issued to nursing units.
• Maintains cleanliness and proper order in the work area.
• Demonstrates proficient use of all equipment and knowledge of stocking and par levels for nursing units.
• Shows dependability and flexibility in meeting the scheduling needs of the department.
• Assumes on-call assignments and takes responsibility for personal and professional development.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (or equivalent) preferred.
• Technical/vocational school preferred.
• Previous sterile processing technician experience preferred.
