Join our community of food people as a Non CDL Driver I, delivering foodservice products with a high level of service to customers. This role involves driving a company vehicle limited to a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 14,900 and meeting the medical requirements of the Department of Transportation (DOT).
About the role
The Non CDL Driver I is responsible for delivering foodservice products to assigned stops safely and efficiently, adhering to DOT regulations. Commercial or professional driving experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Load and unload the vehicle for multi-stop deliveries.
- Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles.
- Use a hand truck to move product from the delivery vehicle into the customer location, including navigating stairs.
- Accurately record delivery information using a hand scanner and complete all required company documentation.
- Handle proper documentation and disposition for any return product.
- Communicate delivery or customer issues to the appropriate authority (e.g., Customer Service, Territory Manager).
- Deliver product to designated stops following the provided sequence.
- Unload product safely and stage it in customer-designated spaces.
- Check invoices for complete delivery, process paperwork, and handle damaged merchandise.
- Collect payments if necessary.
- Monitor the refrigeration system on the delivery vehicle for safety and follow all safe food handling procedures.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including monitoring fluid levels, tires, windshield wash, and replenishing fuel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required.
- No more than two convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations, no DUI convictions in the past three years, and no driver’s license suspensions in the past three years.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
- No commercial or professional driving experience required; one year of multi-stop delivery experience or six months of local delivery and/or foodservice industry experience preferred.
- Hand cart delivery experience preferred.
- Able to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Must pass pre-employment testing, including a background check.
- Knowledge of the delivery area and/or map reading abilities.
- Great interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed to service customers.
- No more than two convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations, with no more than one being a serious DOT-defined violation (e.g., leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving) or resulting from an accident.
- No DUI convictions within the past three years, regardless of vehicle type.
- No driver’s license suspension within the past three years (insurance and overweight tickets excluded).
- No termination by a previous employer for failure to comply with safety regulations or accident involvement.

Physical Requirements
- Climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. consistently and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
- Repetitive motions as part of the job.
- Work is performed primarily outdoors.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
Pay
The expected base rate for this role is between $22.78 and $23.44 per hour, with a starting rate of $23.44 per hour.
Schedule
Generally working Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays, typically starting at 6:00 AM.
