Position Summary

The Demand Response Driver's Primary Responsibilities Are To Safely And Efficiently Operate Their assigned vehicle on a specified route in accordance with the pick-up and drop-off manifest schedule allotted for that day. Our operators act as front-line customer service representatives of the Company and must use their sound judgment, communication skills, and professional knowledge to assist customers with information, resolve problems and conflicts where possible, and assure passenger safety.

Position Requirements

  • Must be willing to work at weekends.
  • Have at least 3 years of driving experience and be over age 21.
  • Reliable transportation both to and from work.
  • Be able to provide transportation in accordance with Massachusetts law, ADA policy, Company policy, and the principles of safe vehicle operation.
  • Be able to demonstrate a level of skill and ability consistent with the provision of high-quality transportation care.
  • Be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, using good judgment, common sense, and workplace trainings.
  • Have knowledge of, and adhere to, all applicable traffic rules and regulations.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  • Be eligible to work in the US w/o restrictions and be able to pass a background check, including motor vehicle check to DOT standards.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Be able to pass USDOT Medical Examination/Physical.
  • Be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Be able sit for durations of up to two continuous hours, as well as stand, kneel, and crouch as needed.
  • Have working knowledge of basic arithmetic, map reading and time telling.
  • Be able to communicate verbally to the extent of interacting with passengers and dispatchers.
  • Be able to complete accurate, legible written reports in English.
  • Possess any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from High School including skill proficiency and graduation equivalence degree programs.
  • Be able to obtain a valid Bus Operators License issued by the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities (DPU), this will be sponsored by the Company if an offer is extended.
  • Meet Department of Transportation (DOT) medical qualifications and are required to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card as a condition of future and continued employment.
