Nocturnist
Job Summary
As our Nocturnist Physician, you will help Dignity Health Medical Group patients receive expert inpatient care so they can achieve optimal health outcomes and recovery. Everyday you will deliver direct patient care for complex internal medicine conditions, ranging from diabetes management to critical illness intervention. You will be expected to perform inpatient consultations, efficiently discharge patients from emergency and clinical decision units, and contribute to the education of medical students and residents, ensuring the highest standards of clinical competency and continuous learning within a leading medical center.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for internal medicine conditions, treating diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, heart attacks, and other serious illnesses
- Provide inpatient consults to patients admitted to the hospital, including critically ill floor patients
- Discharge patients from the ER or Clinical Decision Unit as necessary
- Teach medical students, residents and medical staff
- Absorb and communicate with colleagues and other members of the medical staff to promote positive relations
- Assist department in collecting data for medical quality/performance improvement (QI) program
Requirements
- MD or DO Degree and Active Board Certification
- Active or eligible license in the state of Arizona
- State medical licensure
- Completed ACGME Residency training with current ABMS Board Certification
- Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at Dignity Health Arizona hospitals
Preferred
- Faculty Hospitalist experience is preferred, but not required
