About the role

The Emergency Medicine department is seeking a compassionate, clinically skilled Nocturnal Advanced Practice Provider.

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality patient care in relation to the patient's prescribed diagnosis, treatment, age group, development and other identified needs.
  • Talks to patients and patients' families, communicates findings to physicians and family members.
  • Affords health status by performing the medical history, physical examination and psychosocial assessment.
  • Reports findings and test results to attending physician.
  • Maintains laboratory, clinical radiographic and procedural data for assigned patients.
  • Evaluates health care provided and modifies care as needed (under the supervision of a physician if medical acts are required).
  • Offers psychological support to patients and families.
  • Facilitates use of agency resources.
  • Schedules consultations, diagnostic tests or procedures, future appointments for patients in coordination with the attending physician.
  • Provides consultation to colleagues and allied personnel.
  • Collaborates with medical, nursing and other disciplines regarding plan of care, follow up and evaluation.
  • Recommends therapeutic measures for relief of symptoms.
  • Performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures under the supervision of a physician.

Requirements

  • Written authorization from the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners (TSBPAE) to function as Physician Assistant.
  • Written authorization from the Texas Board of Nursing (BON) to function as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Qualifications

  • MD degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas.
  • Current license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.

Skills

  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in coordinating complex care plans.
  • Ability to independently evaluate patients, interpret laboratory and diagnostic data, collaborate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to exceptional patient outcomes.

Pay

US Dollar (USD) 117,500 Midpoint Salary: US Dollar (USD) 146,500 Maximum Salary : US Dollar (USD) 176,500
