NOC Deployment Lead

Job Description

This is an onsite position located in Champaign IL.

Functional Areas

• Planning
• Verify and validate engineering
• Equipment Counts
• Limitations
• Design validation
• Network Design
• Identify equipment counts (including additions, subtractions and/or substitutions)
• Identify and propose solutions for building automation/ancillary systems
• Manifest and stage (configure) equipment, applications and/or systems
• Installation
• Work with field staff/project manager to create scopes of work (SOW) and schedules for deployment project installation tasks
• Work with field staff to physically install equipment
• Ensure standards compliance
• Keep documentation up to date about project progress
• Verification
• Confirm configurations of all network equipment, applications and/or support products
• Confirm proper monitoring of all applicable network equipment
• Keep Odoo notes up to date
• Prep for any registration services
• Confirm the network is free from Layer 1-3 issues

Required Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with the fundamental concepts of enterprise network design and network implementation with a variety of technologies
• At least 6 months’ experience in NOC break-fix
• Must have experience with networking fundamentals, Pavlov network design standards and practices, Pavlov security standards, inventory control/tracking, and Active Ethernet and PON network design principles

Desired Qualifications

• A "Customer First" service-oriented approach
• Experience in troubleshooting local area network issues and common end-user device issues
• Experience using remote monitoring and management systems (i.e., LibreNMS, Nagios, SolarWinds)
• Ability to work under aggressive deadlines and shift priorities as required to meet business requirements and deadlines
• Strong technical and non-technical communication skills to work with network and field professionals, project management, engineering, property staff, and/or property vendors
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Adaptable and participative in positive, continual changes in process or procedures
• Strong fundamental understanding of OSI model layers 1-2
• Strong knowledge of routers, switches, Wi-Fi, fiber optics and other technical components used in networks
• Proven ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues on a data network
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Macintosh, Adobe, PC hardware and Microsoft Office 365 applications
• Proficiency with Office 365 services

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times

Compensation & Benefits

• The salary range for this position is: $22-$32/hr
• Final pay will be determined based on the candidate's skills, experience, and alignment with our internal equity standards, ensuring fairness and consistency across the organization
