About the role
Achievers Early College Prep Charter School (AECP) seeks to expand its team of high school teachers committed to enhancing student achievement through collaborative efforts. The ideal candidate will:
- Collaborate with teachers and the child study team to develop integrated plans for student capacity development
- Utilize differentiation and scaffolding to support students in achieving Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
- Experience and comfort with online applications to enhance learning
- Design and implement curriculum and assessments aligned with academic standards
- Use data to refine curriculum and guide instructional practices
- Be receptive to weekly coaching and committed to professional growth
- Provide consistent rewards and consequences for student behavior
- Implement multiple strategies to increase student engagement and check for understanding
- Be accountable for students' mastery of academic standards
- Familiarity with Google Classroom and virtual meeting platforms
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred
- Teaching experience in an upper elementary, middle, or high school with an underserved population
- Adept interpersonal and communication skills to diverse audiences
- Valid NJ Teacher Certification completed
- Under N.J.A.C. 6A:14, a Teacher of Record for special education must hold a New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility (CE) or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) in Special Education, or a standard instructional certificate in special education.
