About the role

Achievers Early College Prep Charter School (AECP) seeks a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as a Teacher. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in STEM subjects and a commitment to providing an innovative educational experience for students.

Responsibilities

• Teach a range of STEM courses including but not limited to biology, chemistry, physics, and computer science.
• Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that align with the curriculum and meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Collaborate with other educators to design interdisciplinary projects and activities that enhance student engagement and understanding.
• Mentor and support students in their academic and personal development.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education and STEM instruction.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a STEM field or related area.
• At least three years of teaching experience at the secondary level.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for working with underserved populations and a commitment to equity in education.

Qualifications

• Experience with project-based learning and inquiry-based teaching methods.
• Knowledge of state and national standards for STEM education.
• Ability to manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Experience with technology integration in the classroom.
