Ninja Team head Coach

About the role

The Ninja Team Head Coach supports the Y's mission to strengthen communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This role involves building relationships with members and the community, leading ninja practices, and ensuring safety and adherence to YMCA policies.

Responsibilities

• Builds personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests.
• Exemplifies the Y’s commitment to the four-character values of caring, honesty, respect & responsibility and responds to all member and community inquiries promptly.
• Leads energizing, fun, culturally aware, safe, ninja practices, as directed by the supervisor, to carry out the YMCA mission and goals.
• Provides direct instruction and supervision to ninja participants following the YMCA Best practices, policies, and procedures.
• Helps with setting up and adjusting lesson plans and structure of practices.
• Attends Ninja Competitions and other functions to build performance, confidence, and social network of the team.
• Conveys program information, surveys, and annual campaigns to participants.
• Fulfills all YMCA emergency and safety procedures.
• Upholds all YMCA policies, procedures, standards, and code of conduct.
• Projects a positive, enthusiastic, and professional image on the job.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to implement oral and written instructions.
• Must have knowledge of proper use of ninja/gymnastics equipment.
• Must have 1-2 years of experience working with children ages 1-12 in a coaching setting.
• Must have 1-2 years’ experience with ninja obstacle courses or similar.
• Ninja Coaching Certificate is preferred.
