NineStar Connect - Installation & Repair Technician

About the role

This is a Bargaining Unit position with access to continued training and advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair broadband, security, access control, wireless, key systems (phone systems), and voice services for residential and business customers.
• Use fiber and copper infrastructure to set up and maintain systems, test equipment, and program devices.
• Troubleshoot service issues, wiring problems, faulty equipment, and network disruptions.
• Provide product training to customers on installed services.
• Complete service documentation including work orders, reports, billing, and timesheets.
• Maintain a clean and stocked service vehicle and ensure proper use of company tools and equipment.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for repair and emergency service.
• Operate company vehicles, including a bucket truck, and follow safety protocols for ladders and fall protection.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of: Broadband, security, voice, wireless, and key systems
• Fiber and copper networks, electronic practices, and in-home wiring
• Basic electricity, computer software, and service documentation
• General office practices and customer service standards

Skills

• Preparing work orders, tickets, and time sheets
• Using service equipment, hand tools, and fall protection gear
• Troubleshooting and resolving service issues independently
• Managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Working independently and making sound technical decisions
• Collaborating effectively with team members and external vendors
• Following technical instructions and safety protocols
• Lifting up to 60 lbs and working at various heights
