Responsibilities
- Adheres to state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Follows Core Levy and Mixologist beverage recipes and specifications.
- Detects and acts upon guest inebriation as trained. Demonstrates knowledge of liquor laws.
- Sets up assigned bars; requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce.
- Maintains stock, prepares, cures and stores all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality.
- Arranges bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in the bar area.
- Advanced knowledge of food and beverage, wine, spirits, cocktails and trends.
- Takes and/or processes orders for drinks; mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes; practices prudent portion control.
- Counts the stock by verifying the amounts provided on the stand sheet.
- Uses new cups for every beverage transaction.
- Recounts stock and verifies on stand sheet, as well as enters end counts into Point of Sale.
- Fills out stand sheet completely by tallying sales and depositing money.
- Cleans bar area and requisitions stock for next event.
- Reports earned tips in the time clock.
- Greets guests in a courteous, friendly manner.
- Checks guests at the bar for proper identification.
- Attempts to limit problems/liability by taking steps such as encouraging customers to stop drinking or take safe methods of transportation from event.
- Fills orders placed by guests quickly and efficiently using POS and credit card machine.
- Locks up and stores all beverage product, food, equipment items, deposits and cash drops; secures bank.
- Performs general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards; keeps work area clean and organized.
- Completes sanitation worksheet in full.
- Completes Alcohol Incident Log whenever service is denied to a guest.
- Washes and sterilizes stemware.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two plus (2+) years previous high-volume bartending experience.
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms for one-third to two-thirds or more of the designated shift.
- Must have passed the craft examination for Bartenders conducted by the Union and the Employer’s Bartender Training Program at the time of hire.
- Be punctual, reliable and available for scheduled shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays on event basis.
- Adapt quickly to fast-paced, high-volume environments.
- Demonstrate physical stamina and agility required to be mobile for long periods throughout the day and stand for duration of entire shift.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required work cards including SNHD Health Card, ServSafe Alcohol Card, Non-Gaming Card.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English in written and oral form.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and bend.
- Lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
