About the Role

The Warehouse Supervisor serves as the primary link between warehouse management and warehouse personnel, including forklift operators and warehouse laborers. This role is responsible for supervising daily warehouse operations, communicating work assignments and priorities, and ensuring all activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and customer requirements. The Warehouse Supervisor provides hands-on leadership, oversees inventory control and material handling functions, and promotes a productive, professional, and safety-focused work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision
    • Comprehend daily plan, priorities, and assignments, and effectively communicate them to the warehouse crew.
    • Ask questions and suggest solutions to problems.
    • Display leadership qualities and serve as a positive role model for Biagi Bros.
    • Report inventory anomalies, breaches in facility security, and employee safety issues.
    • Lead by example to set a positive tone and work attitude with warehouse staff.
    • Train, develop, coach, and discipline employees under supervision.
  • Forklift Operation
    • Safe and proficient operation of various forklifts and attachments.
    • Load and unload trailers, containers, and railcars following all safety procedures.
    • Daily use of WAX/AX Warehouse Management Systems, using barcode scanners/readers to process product movements and transactions.
    • Use computers to check orders, receipts, and inventory in WAX/AX as needed.
    • Complete all receivers thoroughly and accurately, including all appropriate paperwork and attachments (e.g., pictures if required).
    • Stage and stack products squarely and straight according to account-specific requirements and Biagi Bros procedures.
    • Accurately pull product from assigned locations and verify all aspects of outbound orders prior to loading.
    • Load outbound orders following load diagrams specific to the product and trailer limitations.
    • Manually stack and wrap product for shipment.
    • Participate in inventory cycle counts.
    • Perform general housekeeping duties as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
  • Safety and Security
    • Attend all safety/staff meetings, sign in, and participate.
    • Complete and submit daily forklift safety checklists.
    • Cut and remove seals from railcars, trailers, and containers using appropriate tools and PPE.
    • Ensure all outside carrier drivers are accompanied by a Biagi Bros employee while inside the warehouse.
    • Ensure all bay doors and pedestrian doors are accessible, closed during breaks and lunches, and secured at the end of each shift.
  • Housekeeping
    • Perform housekeeping duties to support food-grade warehouse requirements, including sweeping, mopping, and picking up debris in trailers, containers, railcars, and warehouse floors.
    • Sweep exterior docks and pick up broken glass, seals, and debris on railroad tracks.
    • Follow break-room clean-up and garbage removal schedules.
    • Safely operate floor scrubbers for dry and wet applications following established procedures.
    • Recycle broken pallets, plastic, and cardboard per established guidelines.
  • Inventory Control
    • Perform bi-monthly, periodic, and/or annual inventories as directed.
    • Perform secondary and cycle counts as directed by management.
    • Report inventory anomalies to account managers or warehouse manager.
    • Report and document damages found during the unloading process or later in location using designated forms.
    • Follow FIFO or assigned codes/lots.
  • Communication and Professionalism
    • Represent Biagi Bros appropriately in all relationships, including electronic communication with owners, management, peers, employees, accounts, customers, carriers, and suppliers.
    • Report directly to the Assistant Warehouse Manager.
    • Maintain functional and professional relationships with all managers, admin, co-workers, company truck drivers, carriers, and representatives of accounts servicing the location.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Occasional travel by car or plane to other Biagi Bros locations.
    • Cover other shifts and their specific responsibilities as needed.
    • Ability to work over 8 hours in a day and/or weekends.
    • Schedule manpower and track attendance.
    • Utilize various customer- or company-directed systems.
    • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Facility Manager.
    • Punctuality and regular attendance is mandatory.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises forklift warehouse crew, warehouse crew, and temporary staffing.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience with inventory control and cycle counts.
  • Sound communication skills; must be able to communicate fluently in English (bilingual is a plus).
  • Basic computer skills, including email correspondence.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Experience with RF (Radio Frequency) systems is highly valued.
  • Must be able to repetitively lift 50 lbs.

Schedule

Scheduled hours: 9 p.m. - 6 a.m.
