Responsibilities

  • Oversee a shift operation in the production department, including safety, quality control, production output, and cost efficiency.
  • Promote and maintain effective work team behaviors among team members.
  • Maintain respectful employee relations and employee development.
  • Ensure departmental and individual safety.
  • Achieve process and performance goals through hands-on leadership, audits, corrective action, and follow-up.
  • Meet customer quality expectations by maintaining quality standards, training, audits, and development of control systems.
  • Monitor quality paperwork, SOPs, and ISO standards.
  • Maintain adequate staffing levels and overtime control.
  • Provide timely feedback and fair evaluations on the performance of the hourly workforce.
  • Work with shift employees to help them resolve problems independently when appropriate.
  • Enforce policies and procedures fairly through coaching and progressive discipline as necessary.
  • Oversee changing internal and external customer expectations for product quality on shift.
  • Work with other staff and management to meet the vision and values of the company.

Requirements

  • High school degree required; college degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated production supervision in manufacturing is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in Lean Manufacturing production techniques is preferred.
  • Computer experience (Microsoft) and proficiency with production floor data entry and retrieval systems.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse and experienced workforce.
  • Ability to become familiar with production processes quickly.
  • Excellent team-building skills.
  • Able to deal with stressful situations.
  • Familiar with governing regulations, e.g., OSHA, AIB, EEO, FMLA.

Physical Demands

  • Must work a 12-hour night shift.
  • Requires standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
  • Requires pushing and pulling roll carts and hoists.
  • Requires lifting up to 55 pounds.
  • Requires ascending and descending ladders throughout the workday.

Schedule

12-hour night shift.
