Responsibilities
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; reporting results of the processing flow on production summaries
- Achieves manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
- Uses problem-solving skills and analytical abilities to develop innovative and expedient solutions to assembly problems
- Reviews various management reports, monitors daily activity, and develops and uses internal measures to track quality, productivity, efficiency, expenses, and other critical issues
- Ensures that the work of the department/work center is well integrated with the work of other departments and work centers such that the overall process serves customer needs and is accomplished in an efficient manner
- Develops and supports a team environment within the work center/department
- Involves employees in departmental planning, setting goals and deadlines
- Engages staff in continuous improvement of work processes, internal and external customer service, and overall product quality
- Ensures all departmental employees know and follow the appropriate Quality Assurance Procedures
- Conducts periodic “self-audits” of the department to track compliance
- Notifies the Quality Department if changes in procedures are needed, and works with them to develop and implement revised or new procedures
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Must have 5 years of experience working in a supervisory position
- Must understand basic, moderate and advanced assembly mechanic skills and techniques
- Knowledge basic Lean manufacturing principals such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Process Improvement
- Mut have knowledge of tooling, fixtures, materials and processes
- Must have excellent verbal, written and listening skills and have the ability to provide written and verbal instructions and present information clearly
- Must exhibit professionalism when communicating with superiors and subordinates
- Must demonstrate the ability to understand and work with basic mathematical concepts
- Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
- Must have the ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Must be able to capture and assimilate information quickly
- Must be able to pay attention to detail
- Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Must be discreet and able to hold sensitive information confidential
