Night Shift Custodian I

Maintains assigned County buildings and offices

• Performs tasks such as vacuuming, mopping floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpet, sweeping, dusting, emptying trash, cleaning windows and other glass
• Maintains restrooms in a clean and sanitary manner
• Moves furniture and other items as needed

Uses tools and equipment

• Utilizes brooms, mops, vacuums, buffers, cleaners, mechanic’s tools, County vehicle, etc.

Interacts with others

• Works in a harmonious relationship with immediate supervisor, co-workers, County employees, etc.

Work schedule

• Flexible shifts including nights & weekends

Additional requirements

• Ability to develop good knowledge of departmental methods and activities
• Knowledge of industry standards and codes
• Mathematical ability to handle required calculations
• Able to follow oral and written instructions
• Knowledgeable in the use of equipment, machines, tools, and toxic agents
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
• Knowledge of terminology used within the department
• Ability to learn and utilize new skills and information
