About the role
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is a large agency responsible for various health and human services. The Walter B. Jones Center operates two adult inpatient treatment programs and offers specialized services across North Carolina counties.
Responsibilities
- Administering and supervising the clinical operations of the Walter B. Jones Center under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer.
- Managing, supervising, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating evening services provided by the center.
- Serving as the Triage Nurse.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
- Two years of nursing experience.
Qualifications
Knowledge of management and supervisory methods, practices, and procedures.
Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of healthcare staff.
Knowledge of professional nursing theory, techniques, and practices.
Ability to actively seek to coach and mentor staff.

Benefits
Shift Premiums for 12-hour shifts: 20% for evenings/Mondays-Fridays and 30% for evenings/Saturdays-Sundays.
Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus: Newly hired permanent full-time or part-time employees must work 30-40 hours per week to be eligible. Employees who work less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate. The sign-on bonus is contingent upon budget and final eligibility determination as of the effective date of hire.
Pay
Recruitment Range: $71,698.00 - $118,304.00
A Sign-on bonus of $10,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.
Schedule
Evenings/Night shift (6:45pm - 7:15am): Monday - Friday 20%, Saturday and Sunday 30%.
