2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday - Friday.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Solid work history with prior experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Possess a valid Special Boiler license and required to obtain 2nd Class C Boiler License within 6 months of appointment.
- 1 year of custodial experience or equivalent.
- Maintains good hygiene with a neat and clean appearance.
- Good attendance.
- Work collaboratively in diverse environment with people of all ages, including students, with a high level of integrity.
- Ability to accept work direction and provide work direction to lower level custodial employees.
- Ability to work alone or as a team with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate and follow written and oral communication.
- Ability to perform light maintenance.
- Excellent physical condition with no restrictions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Demonstrated positive attitude towards coworkers, ability to work cooperatively, and willingness to accept instructions and training.
- Satisfactory past performance record, indicating knowledge of district maintenance methods and procedures, and capability of instructing subordinates in proper use of district methods and procedures.
- Basic working knowledge of personal computers and office machinery.
- Willingness to continuously learn and be open to feedback to improve individual performance.
Responsibilities
- Sweeps, dusts, arranges furniture, empties trash, recycle bins, pencil sharpeners, and cleans chalkboards/whiteboards.
- Washes walls, doors, woodwork, windows/glass, and cleans/polishes metal surfaces.
- Cleans and maintains hard and soft surface floors, including but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, waxing, sealing, extracting, and stripping.
- Cleans, sanitizes, and deodorizes restrooms, locker rooms, health service areas, and drinking fountains.
- Hauls and removes trash/recycling.
- Removes/reports acts of graffiti and vandalism.
- Performs minor repair maintenance.
- Operates heating, A/C, ventilation, electrical, and mechanical systems (limited to turning equipment on/off and/or setting day/night cycles).
- Takes necessary action to prevent emergencies by repairing or reporting broken windows, doors, locks, and unsafe conditions.
- Assists in the maintenance of lawns, landscaping, concrete, blacktop surfaces, and playgrounds, including pedestrian walkways, snow, and ice removal.
- Assists with setups, teardowns, and cleanups of all school activities such as sporting events, concerts, and other meetings or special events.
- Operates security systems and secures building at the conclusion of shift, ensuring building is secure by locking windows and doors.
- Treats all users of buildings in a polite and courteous manner.
- Moves furniture and other heavy objects.
- Assists with putting away deliveries.
- Estimates needs and requisitions supplies and equipment.
- Oversees the evening operations and custodial staff in a medium-sized ISD 622 building.
- Assists with boiler checks.
- Assists with building automation and other mechanical systems.
- Maintains safe maintenance practices and adheres to safety requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Good physical health, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Constant hand-eye and mind-eye coordination, standing, and walking.
- Repetitive motion with wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Frequent bending, carrying, hearing, lifting, and stooping.
- Occasional climbing and crawling.
- Standing for long periods, as well as stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing, and climbing.
