Night Finishing Supervisor

About the role
We are seeking a Night Finishing Supervisor to join our Finishing team and help facilitate both in-house and out-of-house finishing activities alongside other supervisors. Working with the Online Editors, Finishing Design Team, AV & GFX Producers, Assistant Editors, Post Production Assistants, Music Team, and more, the Finishing Supervisors are a cross-functional, cornerstone team that supervises and ensures proper delivery of all client finishing assets. The Night Finishing Supervisor works especially close with the Night Assistant Editor and the Night Finishing Production Design Artist to cover all after-hours requests. Finishing Supervisors are led day to day by the Head of Finishing, and are supervised by the Head of Post Operations. The Night Finishing Supervisor typically does not lead into a day position.
Responsibilities
- Delivery Supervision: Communicating with internal and external stakeholders to make sure everyone is in sync regarding finishing schedules, delivery timelines, final deliverables, and that deliverable packages get to the right place, on time
- Finishing Task Delegation: Sending out finishing-based task requests to various departments, and overseeing their on-time completion
- Quality Control: Making sure that all outgoing deliverables are provided and packaged correctly according to client standards
- Approvals & Deliverables Postings: Uploading approval/graphics checker files and deliverable packages to the proper client portals with utmost care
- Maintain Client Specs: Regularly collect and keep clients' new standard delivery specifications as they evolve & inform the necessary internal teams of such changes
- Preventative Maintenance: Anticipating clients' finishing needs prior to delivery, based on past finishes, in order to prevent finishing delays
- Troubleshooting Assistance: Provide assistance in troubleshooting media issues related to prep elements and other final deliverables
- Finished Spot Organization & Distribution: Maintaining our finished spot libraries across both our internal storage, and online storage, as well as distributing spots to those that request them
Requirements
- Able to work the night shift, covering 3pm - 12am, with the rare slightly later nights and occasional weekend work
- 1 year minimum of entertainment advertising finishing experience required, 2-3 years preferred
- Experience in trafficking the full scope of deliverables, including, but not limited to: masters, submasters, tagouts, backups, AAFs, EDLs, etc.
- Strong understanding of frame rates, codecs, resolutions, and delivery specs
- Moderate experience with Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe Media Encoder
- Basic experience with DaVinci Resolve is a plus
- Familiarity with Airtable & FileMaker is a plus
- Equipped with strong communication skills and the ability to be proactive in keeping in sync with your colleagues
- Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and pick up / hand off project supervision to other Finishing Supervisors with ease
- (If working remotely) Reliable high-speed home internet to remote into a provided on-site workstation

Pay
$80,000 - $85,000 / year, exempt
