Night Crew Team Leader
About the Role
Our Night Team Leaders are key players in managing the Overnight Team across departments such as Center Store, Prepared Foods, Produce, Bakery, and Meat. You will provide unparalleled guest service while overseeing department records, processes, standards, and methods. Leaders are accountable for the operating performance of their department at all times and represent the organization professionally.
You will promote and develop individuals with mutual respect, inclusion, diversity, and dignity, while coaching Team Members regularly with timely feedback to identify opportunities for development and success.
Responsibilities
- Interview, select, and train Team Members.
- Direct the work of Team Members and appraise their productivity and efficiency to recommend promotions or other status changes.
- Handle Team Member issues, including complaints and disciplinary actions.
- Plan, distribute, and assign work among Team Members.
- Ensure the safety and security of Team Members and the store.
- Manage the department budget and inventory.
- Monitor or implement compliance measures.
- Direct, oversee, and evaluate training to reduce turnover, promote efficiency, and control labor costs.
- Provide motivational leadership by setting an exemplary example and fostering an inclusive, diverse environment.
- Identify team strengths and opportunities, and schedule strategically to develop future leaders.
- Maintain safety as the top priority for Team Members, guests, and products.
- Inspire the team and guests with a passion for food and a commitment to excellence.
- Establish an ongoing communication plan to keep Team Members informed and prepared.
Requirements
- Retail work experience or Store Leader recommendation.
- Lifting requirement: Up to 50 pounds.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Qualifications (Desired)
- Retail leadership or supervisory experience.
- Successful performance as a Peer Trainer or similar role.
- Experience as an in-store champion (e.g., safety, service, wellness).
- Demonstrated product knowledge relevant to the department.
- Satisfactory performance and discipline record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification or licensing as required by the department.
