The Night Crew Supervisor is responsible for supporting overnight store operations by leading the Night Crew team in stocking, merchandising, inventory management, and store recovery activities. This position ensures products are stocked efficiently, merchandising standards are maintained, operational goals are achieved, and a safe, organized shopping environment is prepared for customers each day.
Responsibilities
- Supervise overnight stocking, replenishment, and merchandising activities.
- Ensure store shelves, displays, and promotional locations are stocked and customer-ready.
- Coordinate nightly workload assignments to ensure efficient completion of tasks.
- Monitor crew productivity and ensure operational goals are met.
- Support execution of company programs, merchandising initiatives, and store priorities.
- Assist with store opening readiness by ensuring department conditions meet company standards.
- Ensure accurate stocking, facing, blocking, and product rotation procedures.
- Maintain merchandising standards, pricing integrity, and signage accuracy.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate out-of-stock concerns to store leadership.
- Assist in inventory counts, audits, and product replenishment activities.
- Support shrink reduction through proper handling and inventory control procedures.
- Lead, train, coach, and develop overnight associates.
- Assign daily responsibilities and monitor task completion.
- Provide ongoing feedback and support associate development.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
- Assist with onboarding and training new associates.
- Support labor planning and productivity objectives.
- Promote a customer-focused culture, even during overnight operations.
- Assist customers when needed in a professional and courteous manner.
- Resolve issues and communicate concerns to store leadership as appropriate.
- Ensure the sales floor is clean, organized, and ready for customers.
- Monitor workflow and productivity throughout overnight operations.
- Ensure operational procedures and company standards are consistently followed.
- Support efficient receiving, stocking, and merchandising processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and execution.
- Partner with store leadership to address operational opportunities and challenges.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Promote safe work practices and proper equipment operation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Ensure associates properly use stocking equipment, pallet jacks, ladders, and other tools.
- Report and address safety concerns promptly.
- Support labor and productivity goals through effective crew management.
- Minimize product damage and shrink through proper handling practices.
- Monitor operational execution to maximize efficiency.
- Assist in controlling expenses while maintaining performance standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous grocery, stocking, retail, or merchandising experience preferred.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and inventory management practices preferred.
- Basic computer and reporting skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of merchandise up to company standards.
Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive motions.
Ability to safely operate pallet jacks, carts, balers, and ladders.
Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules as business needs require.
