Night Auditor - Marriott

About the role

Processing of night audit reporting and oversight of 3rd shift hotel operations. Responds to and services guests’ needs. Responsible for balancing the daily operations of the hotel. Performs a variety of clerical duties including basic computer work and simple accounting tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Respond to guests immediately upon entering the lobby; maintain the 10-5 Rule at all times.
  • Balance the day’s business in a neat and orderly fashion within a reasonable amount of time.
  • Work all night shifts and be available for other front-desk shifts as needed.
  • Demonstrate complete knowledge of all hotel systems, including phone PBX, key lock, and PMS reservation systems.
  • Complete all tasks described on the relevant shift checklist during your shift.
  • Knowledge of the fire alarm system and evacuation procedures.
  • Review the credit of guest accounts daily and follow up if action is required.
  • Knowledge of the surrounding area.
  • Keep the cash drawer secure and in balance throughout the shift.
  • Sell and upsell rooms to walk-ins and phone reservations.
  • Know and adhere to hotel brand standards as well as Legacy Hotel Partners standards.
  • Maintain a clean and attractive work area, uniform, and personal appearance.
  • Keep confidential all business functions of the company, including financial status, guest information, and employee issues.
  • Interact with internal and external customers in a positive, professional, and accommodating manner.

Requirements

  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks in a busy environment and remain flexible.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition to effectively communicate with guests and staff.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy and financial management skills.
  • Good work ethic, honesty, and ability to work well with others.
  • Good cash handling skills; ability to make change and manage a cash drawer.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Prior customer service experience.
  • Prior accounting experience is preferred.
  • Prior hotel front desk or night audit experience is required.

Schedule

Overnight position from 11 PM to 7 AM.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk on feet for 8 hours and work in a restrictive space or environment.
  • Eyesight enabling both near and far vision.
  • Finger dexterity to type, write, and work on a computer.
  • Clear, understandable voice; ability to hear at a basic level and understand English.
  • Ability to bend, stretch arms overhead, and lift or carry up to 30 pounds.
