Night Auditor | FT Overnight | $1000 Sing-on Bonus
About the role
This position is responsible for balancing and closing the previous business day and completing daily financial reports. You will manage person-in-charge duties during the overnight shift, making independent decisions while ensuring security protocols are followed. The role includes performing manager-on-duty responsibilities during the 3rd shift, providing high-level guest service, and handling check-ins, check-outs, billing verification, reservations, and special requests.
You will also assist guests with knowledge of the hotel property, local attractions, and hotel services, while driving sales and maximizing revenue through up-selling rooms and amenities. The position requires adherence to financial procedures, cost controls, and accurate reporting for managerial review.
Responsibilities
- Balance and close the previous business day’s financial transactions.
- Complete daily financial reports and prepare them for managerial review.
- Process no-show reservations and monitor room availability.
- Perform manager-on-duty duties during the overnight shift, including decision-making and security oversight.
- Assist guests with check-ins, check-outs, billing verification, reservations, and special requests.
- Provide exceptional guest service, including knowledge of hotel property, local attractions, and hotel services.
- Follow guest service recovery programs and respond to guest needs in a friendly, professional manner.
- Adhere to selling techniques and revenue-maximization strategies, including up-selling rooms and amenities.
- Follow proper cash-handling procedures and cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize work duties to meet required volume and deadlines.
- Assist with additional projects, stocking supplies, and supporting other overnight staff as needed.
- Adhere to general work rules, department procedures, and hotel policies.
- Attend required department and hotel meetings.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with regulations.
- Follow emergency procedures and report guest/associate incidents.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of prior guest service experience, preferably in a hospitality setting.
- Prior night audit or accounting experience preferred.
- Excellent computer knowledge and communication skills.
- Attention to detail, customer-focused mindset, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis.
Pay
$21.00 USD per hour.
