About the role
Night Audit is responsible for overnight operations of the front desk, accounting, and security at 1507 E. Millers Cove Rd, Walland, TN. The role involves interacting with guests, managing activities at Oak Cottage and throughout the property, and serving as a competent representative of the company. The position ensures effective handling of guest questions, problems, concerns, and needs related to lodging, food and beverage, and general safety of the buildings and grounds.
Hours for this position are 11 pm - 7 am. Weekend availability is required.
Responsibilities
- Act as a strong self-motivator with the ability to be organized and follow up on tasks
- Use basic understanding of Windows programs and Point of Sale systems
- Follow routine instructions and maintain flexibility with scheduling for weekends and holidays
- Handle positive phone interactions and maintain strong character under pressure
- Multi-task and demonstrate a desire for continued education and growth
- Guest Services:
- Answer and respond to guests’ calls and individual needs
- Manage late check-ins and early departures, including luggage delivery and removal
- Log and deliver wake-up calls
- Perform security checks and walk-throughs of the houses and cottage area
- Light housekeeping in cottages and common areas after late-night activities
- Print traces and arrival reports for the following day
- Copy and deliver the Times fax
- Accounting:
- Complete opening paperwork for the next business day
- Process and deliver guest folios with departure letters
- Perform night audit entry and review
- Support tasks required by the Controller
- Security:
- Respond to fire alarms and take appropriate steps
- Observe property for potential security problems
- Monitor groups and individuals after hours
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Work well with other team members, managers, and interact with guests
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance to perform essential functions, including flexibility to work nights and weekends
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or 2-3 years of hospitality/security experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests, managers, and team members
- Understanding of basic math and accounting functions for night audit reports
- Ability to make decisions under pressure and exercise judgment based on job knowledge and company goals
- Ability to manage diverse tasks simultaneously
- Physical ability to stand or walk for long periods and stay personally alert
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate a company vehicle or golf cart safely
Work Environment
